Sunbirds Rearing

These three shots show the adult feeding the juvenile in the nest. The male and the female both helped in the feeding. The first two photographs here depict the male. I am not sure which of the two parents is shown in the second photograph.

The parents continued to assist the juveniles after they had left the nest. The male came and fed his chick, but I was unable to capture the event on film. Here is a series of photographs of the female removing a dropping from the rear of the chick. This also took place when the chicks were still in the nest. I cannot recall whether the male also helped in the "toilet training".
